Holiday Gift Guide for the Musician in your life

Hello everyone,

As we all know, Christmas is only two days away! This is one of the busiest times of the year for musicians, between Midnight Mass, Messiah's, Gloria's, Magnificats, Juries, Exams, and caroling...Christmas is easily lost and forgotten among this community.

The spirit of giving is one that we can find through music. Musicians bring cheer and joy to those through music! This is my crumby way of segueing into the top things a Musician would want for Christmas!

A few small gift ideas for a secret santa or teacher's gift would be:

• CD of their favourite Musician/opera
• Frame a program and tickets of their favourite show or a recent performance they participated in
• Pick cutter for guitarists
• Gift cards to music stores
• Metronome
• Music Stand
• A Baton

These simple and easy gifts can mean a lot to a Musician...personally I would enjoy any of these!

Now, for Mom's, Dad's and Grandparents who are not as in tune with the music scene but are thinking of something useful for the Musician in their life...try these gifts out for size!

• Pay for a set of head shots
• Tickets to a concert they are interested in
• Nice Briefcase/Music bag satchel
• Dress Shoes
• Dress or a Suit (looking at you mom, dad and grandparents!)
• Paying for coachings or a competition
• Paying for a recording
• Keyboard

These are all (expensive) necessary things that many Musicians will need at one point or another, and knowing this ahead of time, you could definitely help out your Musician!
