Music Websites

In modern day, Technology is our best friend. We have our phones glued to our heads, ear buds jammed in our ears and keyboards at our finger tips. Some may think that technology is all bad, but it isn't. It has provides many ways for people to stay connected and has given great opportunities for research. In my recent google searches, I have found a few websites that I'd like to share with you!

Fach Me
http://fachme.com/

This website creates Tailor-Made Fach's for us singers. You type in a character you've sung/played and they will create a specified list based on the Fach you chose. The website will allow you to narrow down your choices by clicking a little green checkmark in the right-hand corner, and they'll let you add characters to really specify the song choices. They also provide you with a link to wikipedia to research the opera/character they chose for you.

IMSLP
http://imslp.org/

This is a free music library that carries most music written up till 100 years ago. They have scores, sheet music, and more! At the moment, they carry 290,000 scores. The site is offered in many different languages and will hopefully fit your musical needs (for free!)

Naxos

This website provides many pieces of recorded music. From classical, to jazz, everything! They have multiple recordings of pieces and works for you to listen to, whether it be in preparation for a concert review, previewing to a concert or for your own enjoyment!

Yaptracker

I've recently stumbled across this site. It's purpose it to provide a list of opera auditions, vocal competitions and more! They have deadline and audition date notifications and it's mobile friendly! If you are looking for opportunities in Canada, the USA or Europe, this is a good place to look.

I hope these 4 sites were able to help you in one way or another and have provided you with something new to look at!

Until next time,

Tessa
